Welcome our membership co-chairs

November 28, 2010

Please join us in welcoming two additional members of the AAJA Texas leadership. Lee Ann O'Neal and Sandy Hsu Knott have agreed to be our membership co-chairs.

Lee Ann is a Tennessee native. She is a deputy editor at Texas Watchdog, a nonprofit news website that investigates government and advocates for government transparency. She previously worked at the Asheville (N.C.) Citizen-Times and The (Nashville) Tennessean as a reporter and government editor. She holds a bachelor's degree in music from Vanderbilt University and graduated from the Freedom Forum Diversity Institute, a journalism training program, in 2003.

You can welcome Lee Ann by contacting her on Twitter or e-mail.

Sandy is an associate member of AAJA and currently works in marketing and communications for Medicus Insurance Company, a medical professional liability insurance company in Austin. She has been practicing public relations since 2000, after leaving her position as a staff writer with Golf Digest magazine. Sandy is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Journalism. She enjoys running, baking and exploring Austin with her husband Nathan and 4-year-old son Tyler.

Much thanks to Lee Ann and Sandy for stepping up and helping us engage our members and build out our chapter for a stronger future.
