Congrats and thanks to our AAJA Texas Ford Fellows!

Congratulations to Esther Wu, Analisa Nazareno and Michele Chan Santos for receiving Ford Fellowships to attend and blog from AAJA's 2011 national convention in Detroit. A special thank you to these ladies for spending their Ford volunteer hours on helping us organizing our 2012 Lunar New Year dim sum events around Texas in late January and early February.

Esther Wu is a Dallas-based freelance writer and media consultant. She is a former columnist and assistant metro editor at The Dallas Morning News. Wu has also served as president of the Texas chapter of the Asian American Journalist Association as well as National AAJA President and Vice President of UNITY Journalists of Color Inc.

Analisa Nazareno is a freelance writer and communications consultant based in San Antonio. She worked for 11 years at various newspapers, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Miami Herald and the San Antonio Express-News before striking it on her own in 2005. She has served as the Texas chapter secretary and the Florida chapter vice president, as well as a professional mentor for the AAJA Voices project for the Asian American Journalists Association. 

Michele Chan Santos is a freelance journalist in Austin, Texas. Her freelance clients have included MSN.com, The Dallas Morning News, the Austin American-Statesman and Community Impact News. She is a former staff writer for the American-Statesman.
